A payment challenge is issued only after extraction succeeds. A completed machine payment fulfills immediately with evidence content. Duplicate or technically defective charges can be opened as a support case with the payment receipt reference. Card-checkout credits are used only by successful extractions. Ask within 30 days of the charge and unused credits are refunded in full, as are duplicate or technically defective charges: open a support case with the Stripe receipt reference. Free keys are free: nothing is charged, so there is nothing to refund.
